{this moment}...comfy

{this moment}

A Friday ritual from Soule Mama, whom I love reading. A single photo – no/few words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you’re inspired to do the same, leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to find and see.

 You think he's comfy?
This one needs a little background just because it's so funny!
He climbed up and turned on the tv and dvd player to watch Baby Signing Time, pulled up his chair and this is how I found him when I finished what I was doing in the kitchen! So cute.

Babies on Potties!

Charlie has been randomly using the potty.
He LOVES to sign potty and sit on it and act like he's going.
and occasionally, he does...
Tripp using the potty at 8 months old.
What?
Tripp used the potty from just a few weeks after birth and I can count on 1 hand how many poop diapers of his I ever changed in his first 2 years of life.

With Charlie, we didn't really use ec. It just wasn't his style, but all of the sudden he loves the potty.
And I love that he loves to use the potty...because babies on potties are SO cute :)

More Baby Signs

Charlie is so funny with his interpretations of sign language.
He's added a LOT of signs to his repetoire lately.
If I show him a sign, he likes to repeat it ON me.
If Tripp shows him a sign, Charlie will actually copy him.

His favorite other than "milk" while nursing is "more".
"More" gets him more food, so of course it is a fave.
The funniest is "cracker" because he does it on top of his arm with his little pointer finger as opposed to the correct way of knocking on your elbow.
But, he especially likes to sign "cracker" on my arm and then, he does it correctly.

Another thing that is pretty darn cute is that he asks to know what a sign is for something.
He was in my lap this morning eating an apple and kept signing "cracker" and then showing me the apple slice and turning his little hand up questioning me.
After I realized what he was wanting and showed him the sign for apple, he got all bouncy on my lap.
Then, he pointed to other things nearby asking for the sign.

It AMAZES me at the amount of information such a young person can understand when they can't even talk themselves.
I remember when Tripp was this same age and again...amazed.
Tripp had several more words in his daily vocabulary than Charlie, but they both can understand SO much at the ripe old age of (almost) 15 months.
These little humans we created are just too cool.

Baby Signs

Before I forget, Charlie is picking up on a lot of signs lately.
I really need to remember to do them with him because he seems to like it.
He readily uses "all done/finished" (and has for several months), "milk" when he wants to nurse or is nursing and "eat". He will also copy many others when we show him. I need to brush up on some more signs as he's clearly very interested.

This morning was the first time he used "eat" to tell me he wanted some food.
In the past, he's signed it to us as he's getting ready to eat when we sign it to him.
But this morning, he used it to actually communicate that he was hungry.

Tripp, Charlie and I were having a little wrestling match on our bed and Charlie decided to crawl down. He started out of the room, turn to me and signed "eat" several times and crawled towards the kitchen. Then, whenever I promptly didn't follow, he stopped and did it again.
This time he eagerly grunted along with it, so as to say "Come ON Lady, I'm hungry!".

Cute, big baby boy.
